This past December I was working in Alberta and heard our man Andy on a phone-in show called "Adler." I think Adler is a nationwide syndicated radio show. We don't get any of that stuff in Newfoundland...
Anyways, Andy was an embarassment. He played the bumbling, regional rustic clown, to the hilt. The host of the show was openly calling him "Newfie" while setting up the segments. It was all a bit of comic relief and help solidify in the minds of our compatriots across Canada that, as they suspect, we are a province of losers.
The fitting tribute to Andy Wells, as he slowly goes away, is the dog shit all over the sidewalks of St. John's... worse than anything I ever saw in India or China. Andy refused to do anything about it.
Ignorant weirdo.
